    JAMS Physical and Health Education offers students a variety of individual and team activities, fitness tools, and learning content aimed to promote a healthy lifestyle.

    6th grade Physical Education

    • Semester elective

    The Physical Education program provides each student with the opportunity to participate in a comprehensive program consisting of skill development, lead up games, team sports, and physical fitness activities. The students receive instruction in skills, rules and strategies associated with the different sports and games as well as learning experiences involving physical conditioning activities, and the components of fitness. The program promotes the spirit of cooperation, leadership, fair play, and friendly competition.

    7th/8th grade Physical Education

    Class Philosophy: Whether remote or in-person, JAMS Physical & Health Education helps students develop a healthy lifestyle. We love our students and aim for all to be successful regardless of their physical abilities. We employ a growth mindset, foster teamwork, and have a blast!
    Educational platforms to be used: PowerSchool, Schoology, Microsoft Teams, and JAMS outlook email.
    Materials and equipment:
    • Comfortable, appropriate clothing for physical activity
    • Device to participate in virtual learning
    Synchronous Learning:
    • Class will be held three days a week over Microsoft Teams.
    • Team’s links and class times can be found under the course information page on Schoology.
    Expectations:
    • Work hard
    o You have the opportunity and ability to accomplish so much this semester. You must work hard to achieve it!
    • Be a responsible, self-directed learner
    o Organization is key! Create a system and schedule that works for you.
    • Be respectful and KIND!
    Grades:
    • This year active participation looks different than in class participation.
    • Our goal is that you actively participate to the best of your ability!
