JAMS HOLIDAY GIFT CARD DRIVE SPONSORED BY JAMS PTSA
Looking for a way to make a difference this holiday season? Help students in our JAMS community by donating Fred Meyer/Kroger gift cards in $25 increments. All donated cards will be distributed by counselors to students in need of food, hygiene products, clothing, shoes, and other basic necessities. Many of the gift cards will be dispersed in advance of our holiday break but others will be used as needs arise, or for other school breaks throughout the year. Please bring gift cards to the school office through Dec. 15th.
    Warmly,
    Kathy Gerke

    ATTENDANCE ZONE
Invest in an alarm clock and let your child make the choice. Even if they pick out the ugliest, tackiest clock you have ever seen, let it be their decision. Selecting that alarm may help instill a sense of responsibility about getting up on time for school.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------
    VOLUNTEER CORNER
Watch this spot for all sorts of great opportunities to help kids, staff, teachers, and community at JAMS. They range from 30 minutes one-time, to weekly, to co-chairing a project. Whatever you can spare is a big help. Contact jrknickel@comcast.net if you have questions or would like to know what you can do to help.

    ADDITIONAL OPPORTUNITIES
We continue to need tons of help with Traffic Safety. Visit the  Sign Up Genius or email JAMStrafficsafety@gmail.com with questions or to find out how to help with special events.

    FUTURE JAMS OUTDOOR DESIGN MEETING
The Final Design Reveal community meeting (#3) will be Thursday, Jan. 25 from 6:30-8:15 PM. This Outdoor Beautification project is funded by a Department of Neighborhoods matching fund grant. Your attendance at this meeting counts as match towards fulfilling our grant requirements. Please plan to attend with your JAMS student, family and friends.  Spread the word.  Questions? Email
    JAMSDREAMBIG@gmail.com.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------
SEEKING FUNDRAISING COORDINATOR FOR LANDSCAPE CONSTRUCTION
The JAMS Outdoor Landscape Design Committee is seeking a fundraising coordinator from the community to help guide fundraising for construction. If you or someone you know has fundraising experience, please ask if they would be interested in helping. This is currently a volunteer position, but the committee is not opposed to creating a paid position with future funding. Please contact Colleen Weinstein if you have questions or to volunteer! Email JAMSDREAMBIG@gmail.com.

    FOCUS DAY SURVEY
In past years, WSPTA has organized a one-day advocacy event in Olympia in January or February, for a day of issue education and of talking to legislators about our priorities. But we know that Focus Day does not fit the needs of EVERY advocate; WSPTA is a statewide association, and not all of our members who want to advocate for our platform CAN make it to Olympia. Our advocacy also cannot and should not be limited to a single day. For the 2018 legislative session, our goal is to engage as many members in our advocacy as possible, and we value your thoughts.

Please take this Focus Day survey by Dec. 4. When you input the region, choose “6” and the council is “275”. We want to hear as many voices as possible!
