     ***NEW! TRAFFIC REMINDER ***
If you are dropping your student off in the back of the school (31st Street), please pull forward to the drop off zone by the curb to avoid creating an unsafe backup for all our students. U-turns are not permitted, please reference the Traffic Flow Map HERE to help keep all our children safe. If you have a high school student helping with drop off, please share the procedures with them, as it helps ensure their safety as well.
Thank you for helping create a safe environment for everyone.

    *** NEW! CALENDARS ***
We recently received a parent request for quick and easy ways to link to the JAMS calendar. Here is how to enter all of the important JAMS dates automatically:
Method one: Go to the Seattle Public Schools JAMS calendar at
    http://addamsms.seattleschools.org/cms/One.aspx?portalId=11311&pageId=11327
*Select “Yearly” from the drop down menu (you can choose any chunk of time, or export single events, too)
*Export the calendar using the calendar icon with a green arrow
    *Choose your format and download
    *Add it to your calendar

Be sure to do this twice, for 2017 and 2018. It will only import the JAMS dates already entered on the school calendar—it has all the breaks and big events, but more details will be added as time goes on and it won’t update automatically.
Method two: to automatically receive roughly weekly updates, you can subscribe to the JAMS school calendar. Cut and paste the directional below into Ical or Google calendars wherever it requests the calendar addresses you wish to receive:

    SEEKING TRANSPORTATION AND SAFETY CO-CHAIR

JAMS PTSA needs one Traffic and Transportation Safety Co-Chair to help Maria Renninger for the 2017-18 school year. This is a great PTSA board position and includes interaction with grateful students and fabulous parents. The system is already well established, so it will be easy to take it over.

JAMS PTSA is also looking for someone to fill these additional non-board volunteer positions:

    STEAM Fair Committee Chair
    Staff Appreciation Committee Chair

Please contact: jamsptsapresident@gmail.com to learn more about these positions.

    Crossing Guard Volunteers

We need more parents to help students cross safely to school. The JAMS traffic safety crew is a fun and friendly group, and you'll get lots of smiles and "thank yous" from the kids. We start the first day of school, and we take new crew members throughout the year.
