    DEBATE CLUB
Do you like thinking on your feet and persuading others? Debate club is now available at JAMS.  Join Debate Club and take your skills to the next level. Learn how to build an impenetrable argument, how to listen for weak spots in reasoning and how to critically analyze information, all while gaining confidence and having fun. Debate club will meet once a week and include games, skill building and of course, debate. The debate format is inspired by the International Debate Education Association. You will learn how to debate both sides of any topic and tolerance of different viewpoints. Debaters become great communicators and are often seen as leaders. Email alisa@friedmanrubin.com for more information or to sign up.

    MATH CLUB
Are you interested in doing more math and looking for a chance to connect with other students who are equally passionate? The JAMS Math Club is starting up again this year. Our focus will be on exploring new topics, working on challenging problems and exploring the hidden beauty of Mathematics. During the course of the year we will also offer opportunities to participate in various contests such as AMC8 and MathCounts.

    ROCKETRY CLUB

JAMS Rocketry Club is a year-long after school program, open to all Jane Addams students. Student rocketeers design, build and launch rocket as part of The American Rocketry Challenge, as well as learn the basics of rocket science and the engineering design process. We meet Tuesdays after school, Sept 24th through May 19th, 3:50 – 5:30.  Launches are held on weekends throughout the school year. Cost is $225 for the entire year, and need based scholarships are available.

Due to the increasing popularity of the club, and to provide a quality experience for club members, attendance will be limited, and admittance will be application based.  Information sheet and the application form can be downloaded or are also available in the main office. Contact Mr. Grevstad kugrevstad@seattleschools.org with questions.
