What if my student needs to leave school early?
If your student needs to leave school for any reason, please fill out an Early Release Form (even if they will be returning to school) and have them bring the form to the Main Office in the morning before school starts. They will be issued an early dismissal pass that your student will show to their teacher for release from class. You will still need to meet and sign out your student in the Main Office.

If they are returning to school the same day, your student will need to check in at the Main Office to receive a pass to give to their teacher.

What if my student needs to ride a different bus?
When students need to ride a different bus to which they are not assigned, or need to get off at a stop other than their assigned stop, written parent/guardian permission is needed. Please fill out a Bus Card Form and have your student bring it to the Main Office before school starts.

What if my student is late or absent?
If a student misses school or is late due to an excused absence, a parent/guardian needs to call or email the Jane Addams Attendance Office on the morning of each missed day or late arrival. If you know ahead of time that your child will have an excused absence lasting three days or more, please fill out the Pre-Planned Absence Form and give it to the Main Office before your child is absent.

How do I/my student access schedules, attendance and grades? What's the deal with the new websites?
Student grades, schedules, assessments and attendance are accessed via The Source, Seattle Public School's online communication tool.  More information on The Source here.

Information from teachers about assignments, coursework, and homework can now be found on Schoology, our Learning Management System. More information on Schoology and The Source can be found on this district information page.

What if my student participates in two year-long electives and cannot fit PE in their schedule?
Students with two year-long electives will automatically be granted a PE waiver. No form is necessary this year.
